JANUARY TO REMEMBER

The beginning of this year, and decade was something a lot of people have been looking forward to; but this January turned out to be a January with some events; some good and others painful and shocking.

 
First, I will start with n-CoV virus(Corona Virus). The virus which originated from China has spread to at least 16 countries. The virus up until the 27th  of January has killed 106 people with 4,515 people infected in China(source: aljazeera).

I can also not rule out the Australian bush fire that engulfed parts of Australia killing people, injuring some and destroying homes. The fire did not just destroy people and lands but about 500 million animals.

One news that particularly struck me was the announcement by the terrorist group- Boko Haram that Leah Sharibu(a Christian girl who was abducted from her school in Dapchi, aged 14 at the time of her kidnap in 2018) had given birth to a baby boy for Boko Haram commander. Personally, I believe the government could have done better in securing her release but they did not.

Most recently, a shocking news that moved the world to tears was the death of NBA legend, Kobe Bryant, his daughter and 7 others in a helicopter crash. Kobe was an inspiration to many people across the world, his influence cut across basketball and he left behind his wife and 3 daughters.

Earthquake in Turkey had at least 22 dead and hundreds injured. The resurgence of Lassa fever in different states across Nigeria has become something many Nigerians are being alert about.

Tyler Perry's first movie released by Netflix, A Fall From Grace, is definitely a movie to watch and learn from.

Personal hygiene is crucial in the wake of these diseases, always wash your hands and keep your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth if they are unwashed. 

Also, pray for Nigeria. Pray for those in government and for different troubled nations across the world. God answers prayers.

2020 just started and I pray we all have a great year. The basic thing is we should know about living is to always live in love. Show love to everyone around you, tomorrow is not guaranteed. Leave people better than you met them and do not hold back on doing good. Appreciate people when they are alive.
